  1. I thought it was interesting that she felt the best way to depict an image was to know it holistically, in the round, and as its own entity. I like the idea of becoming close with the items that you are representing, and it the amount of research that should be considered.

  2. I found "Collapsing Time" to be an interesting name for this video because rather than collapsing anything, she was trying to capture a whole picture of it. Whether it being how she looked at mushrooms in the round or wanted to investigate how a certain species could interact with its ecosystem as a whole, I think it's important to note how often having a view with more information can provided a detailed understanding of one particular element.

  3. The shots taken in this film are breathtaking, alternating back and forth between close up shots and old school black and white film style frames. I appreciate her sharing what makes her choose objects in nature, whether it be for their function in the natural world, their aesthetic look, or a memory it evokes for her. This is a very similar system to how I would find feathers for my first project. For my last project I will be working to collect objects in nature again as well. As an artist, she definitely dove deeper into all aspects of found and collected items in nature, rather than just using them or picking them up because they were cool to look at and keep.
